Mar. 27 - April 2 - No School Spring Break
Mon. April 3 - School Resumes
March Reading Logs due

Math - We will continue to work on measurement with centimeters and meters. This week we'll estimate lengths in meters and measure and compare lengths. A chapter test will be given at the end of the week.
Student of the Week - Everyone has had a chance to be our Student of the Week! Moving forward, I will choose a student to fill the estimation jar each week. This is optional, but many kids like the chance to do this again. We have all enjoyed getting to know each other better and especially like seeing what our student of the week has brought to share each day!
Spring Pictures - Thank you to everyone who has returned their pictures or money. If you have not, please do so as soon as possible. You may pay online if you prefer.

Reading - We'll conclude our unit on Neighborhoods and Community this week by reading The Big Orange Splot. It is a funny story about a man named Mr. Plumbean. We'll be doing a close read of the story, discussing point of view, and how words and phrases provide meaning to the text.
Grammar focus will be on articles (a, an, the).
Reading logs are due on Wed. Feb. 1. The class has voted to have another Stuffed Animal Day. Please encourage your child to read 20 minutes each night and help them fill in their reading log if necessary. It would be great to have everyone participate in our monthly reading reward!
Math - We have completed our chapter on Money and Time. Next, we will focus on measuring the length of objects using a ruler, yardstick, meter stick, and measuring tape.
