Math
We've had our first Topic test and are now working on Topic 2, Addition Strategies. Lessons next week will focus on Doubles Facts (2+2, 4+4...), Near Doubles (3+4. 7+8), adding in any order, different ways to add 3 numbers in a row, and making a "10" to add.
Reading
We will be reading Chester's Way this week and our lessons will focus on making text to text connections and learning about character traits. We'll also compare and contrast characters in the story. Our grammar lessons will focus on nouns.

Reading logs - The class has voted on a reward for returning in September reading logs ~ Show and Tell Day! Please encourage them to read 20 minutes each night and fill in their home reading log. They should be returned on Wednesday, October 1.
Thank You to the Rivera, Harvat, and Majchrzak families for donating money for classroom books. We love getting new books and will enjoy reading the new ones we were able to purchase for our classroom library!
