Reading - We will be finishing our research reports this week.  We'll also focus on retelling as we read 2 selections about ants.  Two Bad Ants is a fiction story about two ants who decide to leave the safety of their home and explore a kitchen.  Ant is a non fiction story about the life cycle, habitat, and different types of ants.  We'll compare and contrast the two selections and work on the reading strategy of visualization.

Butterfly Unit - We'll also begin our Butterfly unit this week.  We'll learn about their life cycle and our larva should be arriving!  The students will be keeping a journal to record their observations as the larva transform into Painted Lady Butterflies!

Math - Our next chapter will focus on Geometry and Fraction Concepts.  We'll begin by identifying 3D shapes and their attributes.

Science - We read 2 selections about owls this week, Owl Moon and Owls.  We learned about the food chain, what owls eat, and owl pellets.  We had an interesting time dissecting owl pellets.  In case you missed it, check out our video on Seesaw.

Thank you to Mrs. Potter and Mrs. Ander, who coauthored the book Imagine That!  They presented a fun and interactive assembly today.  We had a wonderful time!
